Okay so I there was this book I read awhile ago and I just saw a quote from it that made me think of Steve talking to PostWS-Bucky and it made me very emotional: "Because I found you again. However strenuously the world pulls us apart, however long the absence, we are not changed for being dashed upon the rocks. I knew you then, I know you now, I shall know you again when you come home." What do you think? Maybe like when Bucky isn't sure to return to Steve??
That is such a beautiful quote, will put it up here seperately:
“Because I found you again. However strenuously the world pulls us apart, however long the absence, we are not changed for being dashed upon the rocks. I knew you then, I know you now, I shall know you again when you come home.”
That definitely sounds like Steve talking to Bucky. Maybe when Steve finds him sitting on a bench in the park after months of searching or after a long night haunted by nightmares. Maybe when Bucky is standing in front of Steve’s door, trying to come home, trying to be who he used to be or to find some part of himself again. And Steve, reassuring as always, tells him these words and whoever Bucky is now or whoever Bucky wants to be, that Steve will be there for him and love him all the same, as Steve has always done.
