Prayers don't have to be pretty to be heard.
It's been rough for me to pray recently because I didn't think that they felt meaningful or intentional enough. But I now realize that as long as I mean what I say, and even when my heart isn't in it, God knows what I want to tell Him.
That doesn't mean that we should be casual or thoughtless. But a 30 second prayer can connect us with heaven just as much as a 2 hour prayer.

Jesus Christ was tempted
Jesus Christ questioned and challenged authority
Jesus Christ condemned those who judged
Jesus Christ went against tradition and laws
Jesus Christ was perfect and still had moments
Jesus Christ forgave others instantly despite what tradition and law stated
It's Christlike to be a certain way not normally portrayed as christlike FOR THE RIGHT REASONS.

At our Stake Relief Society activity this morning, one of the workshops talked about the need for Nephi to be spiritually recharged, but all I could think about was the women in that same story.
I imagine the experiences that Nephi endured were equally or even more challenging for Nephi's wife. She witnessed or experienced all that Nephi did--the trials, the persecution, the hardship and fatigue--but she didn't have the visions and priesthood and prophecies that he did.
Or, not that we hear about at least.
To me, I think she must've been equally as connected to the Lord to remain faithful and committed as she did. We all have different types of spiritual trials, different things that are asked of us as leaders or followers, but we all need our own personal connection to and testimony of the Savior.
