The Fall Series 1-3 and Derry Girls

Finally getting around to making this post. The Fall was a series that starred Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan and ran from 2013-2016. It's a very dark series so be warned.

Summary: Metropolitan Police Superintendent Stella Gibson, a senior investigating officer tasked with reviewing investigations, is seconded to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) in order to assess the progress of a murder investigation that has remained active longer than 28 days. When it becomes apparent a serial killer is on the loose, local detectives must work with Stella to find and capture Paul Spector, who is attacking young professional women in the city of Belfast. As time passes Stella's team works tirelessly to build a case, but they are met with complications both inside and outside the PSNI.

There are plenty of familiar faces from Derry Girls.

I knew I recognized Grampa Joe and Sister Michael from the show, but the others are a surprise. Ma Mary Quinn is really messing with my head...

It’s always weird when you recognize an actor from one specific work, not from the rest of their catalogue.

When I started watching Britannia last week I knew I had seen David Morrissey somewhere before, but as I scrolled down his list of credits I kept saying “No, not that” even for movies that I had actually seen him in.  It wasn’t until I got to his appearance on Doctor Who that I said “Yes, that is where I know him from!”

I nearly lost it when I looked into Cara Gee’s acting history and realized that she was also Kat Loving on Strange Empire.

I don’t know how I didn’t make the connection with Camina Drummer.

When we first met Erin at God’s Promise her actress struck me as incredibly familiar, but I couldn’t place her.  I looked up her name and it wasn’t familiar either, so I dug into her filmography and there still wasn’t anything I recognized.

I was scratching my head and that’s when I got to her theater work and my jaw dropped: I saw Emily Skeggs as Medium Alison in Fun Home.

She was fantastic.
