How does a replacement effect like "Shared Fate" work with simultaneous card drawing? If I tap a "Temple Bell" and one of my opponents and I both want our other opponent's card who gets it first? Is there an order to adhere to? Thanks!
When an effect has multiple players draw cards, all the draws happen in APNAP order. So the player whose turn it is will draw their card first, then the next player in turn order, and so on.
With Shared Fate, you just replace those draws with Shared Fate’s effect. So first the active player will exiled a card from an opponent’s library, then the next player, and so on.
An interesting question that popped up in a discussion with friends regarding the card Shared Fate. My opponent has no cards in their library, and goes to their draw step. However, Shared Fate states that instead of drawing, they exile the top card of my library. In this case, would they lose the game? My thoughts are on no, since they aren't actually drawing a card but Magic is a strange beast.
No, they don’t lose. The draw is replaced so they never actually attempt to draw from an empty library.
