My Housemate Bailed & Stole My Furniture...
I don't like to rant on here too much, but... oh what a week.
So my one of my housemates (I usually have two) up and left this past week.
They gave no notice.
They didn't pay the week's rent.
They stole a piece of my furniture (a bedside table).
They didn't clean anything, but instead left tons of trash everywhere!
And I found out by receiving a call from my landlord who spent 15 minutes yelling at me about how I should have "known better" and "should have been keeping better track of my household" (my landlord lives nearby and saw my former housemate moving out. I was away from home that day).
The worst part about this is... this person was supposed to be my friend!
We've been friends for a while and get along great. Just a few days before this happened we had spent a whole day together hanging out and having a good time... then this!
No warning, no notice... they didn't even tell me they were thinking of leaving... just nothing.
So, yeah. Things are kind of rough now. My budget had already been very tight because I'm a full-time student, and earlier this year I lost my job because of COVID. My other housemate, who thankfully is still with me through all this, is struggling too; they've been having a hard time finding work and have been volunteering in the meantime, meaning their budget is pretty tight also.
I'm holding interviews this week for a new housemate, but this feels all so messed up. It's so hard right now with not many people wanting to move because of COVID (understandable).
So, yeah, updates have been slow. Sorry about that. I will try to update with more new art soon (and try to finish that she-ra comic like omg finally!)
If I was going to open up for commissions or suggestions for a ko-fi donation, do you think any of you would be interested?
It sucks when other people are home and I can’t daydream aloud in the kitchen.
London Living: Finding Your Perfect, Affordable Abode
London, a dazzling metropolis pulsating with history, culture, and infectious energy, entices those seeking an extraordinary adventure. But for newcomers, the initial hurdle can often be securing a place to live without breaking the bank. Fear not, budget-savvy explorers! London offers a delightful selection of shared flats that are both kind to your wallet and surprisingly enchanting.
The Enchantment of Shared Living
Shared accommodation transcends merely splitting the rent. It's a gateway to a pre-built social circle. Imagine evenings filled with swapping travel tales with housemates from around the world, or cozy nights in enjoying a home-cooked meal together. Many shared flats boast communal living areas, fostering a sense of camaraderie and the chance to forge lasting friendships.
Unearthing Your Ideal Locale

Facebook groups dedicated to London flat-sharing are another goldmine, offering a more personal touch and the chance to connect directly with potential housemates.
Affordability with a Dash of Panache
Who says budget-friendly has to be boring? Many shared flats in London boast a surprising level of character. Period features like exposed brickwork or Victorian fireplaces can add a touch of grandeur. Some even reside in charming converted buildings, steeped in history and offering a unique living experience.
Tips for a Seamless Transition
Before diving in, it's wise to communicate openly with potential housemates about expectations and living habits. Discuss chores, guest policies, and noise levels to ensure a harmonious co-existence. Embrace the local flavor by exploring your neighborhood's hidden gems - independent cafes, quirky bookstores, or lively local markets. Remember, shared accommodation is a journey, and with a little effort, you can transform your flat into a warm and welcoming London home.

I open the fridge and see, in a freezer bag, half a red onion and also a quarter of a red onion on my shelf of the fridge. Is this my housemate accidentally putting her stuff on the wrong shelf or a threat.
My favorite thing about 300 fox way is that it’s just so FULL. It’s so full of love that I feel like if you were friends with anyone there you were just kind of part of the family now and that if you were seeking love you could find it anywhere in that house. On top of that it’s so full of life, the constant bustling of people, I feel like it’s the kind of house where the doors are always open and there’s always an extra plate of food on the table, even if you didn’t know you needed it. It’s the kind of place you would go to visit a friend and then never want to leave again and honestly that’s the kind of home I want when I’m older. Its somewhere that you KNOW is just full of half made beds, and overstuffed couches. The type of place where half the surfaces are covered in parts of art projects or abandoned belongings and random kid shoes. Where the walls all have murals or doodles or handprints on them and all the wooded furniture has hand painted vines and flowers crawling up the legs. A place that’s just so LIVED in, a home where if you accidentally break a bowl the residents just laugh and say “it’s okay, we’ll make a new one. Do you wanna help paint it?”. I honestly really want a house like that, where there’s always an extra bowl of food, an extra bed or a bed to share, a place where everyone is your aunt or cousin because that’s what you were taught to the point where you’re not actually sure who IS your aunt/ cousin, and where everyone who walks in immediately feels like they’re home. So basically what I’m saying is: if you too want to go and get a house with 8 other random witchy friends so we can all go live there and emulate the fox say ladies and grow old and adopt/ have some cute ass kids, then hit me up.
