Thank you I aDORE stuff like that that is long and so close to/based on canon things and so IC and tHE AMOUNT OF THINKING YOU PUT INTO IT and all the details and skipping the repetition of what we've already watched in the anime and jUST EVERYTHING OH MY GOD. Wow, what an amazing way to wake up today.  Thank you thank you for messaging, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. That fic is really special to me, because I wanted to fill in canon gaps so badly, and I wanted to really dig into Sousuke and Rin's relationship--not just romance, but the friendship and the dorkitude that it's all based on. They are so competitive with each other and there was no way that would stop just by deciding 'hey, I'm totally in love with you'. Again, you made my day, thank you for taking the time to write me. <3

hailsousuke la la la, it's a Monday tease for you. (Tomorrow will be office-hell so have this now.)

“You said you’d give me anything I wanted.” It is the second time he has said that to Rin this school year, and Sousuke finally, finally knows what he really wants. What he has always wanted. What each and every one of those Christmas gifts were always meant to say. “Can you give me your heart?”

There is no welling up, no denial; tears simply flow into instant existence, cascading in buckets down Rin’s face. “Do you think I could do that over a bet?” His voice is thick, the words almost choking him. “Stupid Sousuke…” They’re sitting beside each other on the bottom bunk but Rin knees him anyways, face dropping into his hands. His shoulders are quaking with noisy sobs. 

“....besides,” he raises a drippy, blotchy, beautiful face to Sousuke, “I can’t give you something that’s already yours.”
