the scene where that man she liked was disgusted and horrified by her body and she knew it and they never talked again...GOD
got to the twist. hmmm
one the one hand, it was too obvious to be adora, wasn't it? and the murders...didn't feel like an adult. they were strange and clumsy. and adora didn't even mean to kill marianne. she was callous, selfish, abusive, but didn't intentionally murder her. I believe she mourned her
I toyed with the idea of it being amma briefly before deciding that was kind of an evil path to go down, or simply too unlikely. it is true that abused children may lash out and hurt other kids, but I really like amma. it made me sad. I suppose that's the point. she's a tragic figure altered by her mother's abuse. still, multiple murders by age 13...and more than one girl involved...and ultimately the twist belies the assumption of one-dimensional, flattened innocence of young girls so I suppose I appreciate that complexity. but children in fiction who are murderers always sit uneasy with me. and this is. an extreme case. god. but like it makes sense in a way. she had such a fucked up relationship w her mother that any girl her mother or sister paid attention to had to die, bc she was so starved for love. like....fuck. how does she come back from that. she's so young
the fact that natalie's nails were painted before her death was creepy but anne's legs being shaved really does nauseate me
I also dislike murder mysteries when cops are the allies to the cause bc now I gotta be relieved this guy is on the same page as camille and won't arrest this poor teenager. god if they find the fucking teeth...
she just wants love is the thing. it's so tragic. she's been denied her whole life but she nust craves to be loved
oh this is heartbreaking
