Heralds of the major Gods, the Dream Heralds are specially forged beings to support the efforts of the Everchosen of Chaos.
Unlike the other cases of mortals and daemons cohabitating a body, the Dream Heralds interact with Kallig’s soul in a more symbiotic than parasitic. Not only able to empower their host but power can be transferred between the different heralds.
Most times, Kallig’s malignant empowerments are shrouded by psychic wards built into his mask and the constant casting of cantrips which have become akin to breathing in the recesses of his mind. This gives the image of a simple, if powerful, psyker but close examinations or a lowering of these wards brings the malignant power forward.
While just a title from when their names weren’t yet revealed to the fledgling Everchosen, the title remained in their shared lexicon. Initial meetings with the entities were done during Kallig’s sleep. Even during the modern era, sleep is the best medium for reliable communication with the heralds beyond small comments.
The currently known Heralds in service to the Everchosen are;
Khaalzhak - Wrath of the Everchosen
Shassanki - Pride of the Everchosen
Robigo Deos - Apostle of the Everchosen
Truzkuuth - Oracle of the Everchosen
Additionally, there have been nocturnal apparition of another being within Kallig’s mind, but with little recognition from the Heralds.
The Herald Shassanki is a unique character among the Dream Heralds. While she does still carry the fondness of pleasure and suffering shared by her more mundane kin, Shaski prefers the progression of life towards a central point of perfection.
There is particular interest placed on the lifestyle of Kallig in his sovereign position, encouraging the enjoyment of luxuries and acts at the disposal of the position despite the more martial manner Khal and Deos encourage. This desire for luxury has been channelled into the mortal realm via the assistance in Kallig’s hobbies, specifically that of his tailoring.
Her preferred works are those based on unconventional images. A dress formed from scaled slate, a shamanistic headpiece resembling the primal aspects of suffering. There have been a number of more revolting pieces which have been composed, with a few even earning destruction but most are tame and acceptable for mortal observation.
Appearance
Shaski makes the most of her undefined physical form, taking as many forms as she wishes. She does still have a preference of form. Taking the form of an elven succubus, the form boasts a lean and lithe form not unlike those of the Asuryani. Unlike the assumed inspiration however, a pair of bat like wings protrude from her back with a sleek tail trailing from sacrum would be on a human.
A long flow of pale blue hair ripples down her back, down to her thighs, in a grand mane. This can easily be changed, like everything else in her form, to more desired proportions and colours.
As for garb, she prefers to wear simple materials. Currently she has kobalt tabard with an armoured piece around her chest. Thigh high, black leather boots reach up her legs with a similarly formed glove over her left hand.
Personality
Shaski is one of the outwardly simpler characters among the heralds. She takes great pleasure in matters of art and desirable aesthetics of all forms.
Like the others within this coalition, The Mistress does have a warped sense of morality compared to mortal sensibilities. She has no qualms about killing hundreds for the simple creation of art or a minor goal. This does get repressed by Kallig within the Unbound Empire
Wargear/Equipment
Night’s End
Commonly formed into a pair of sickles of midnight tinted silver. A single cut of these weapons are noted as bringing waves of uncontrollable suffering and ecstasy to a person’s mind, with only the strong willed able to resist. This property comes from its origin as the tormented soul of a sacrificed Night Lord, brought to its peak of insanity by Shaski’s own hands.
Crown of the Prince
Where the other heralds gained gifts from their gods more prestigious in nature than overtly powerful, Slaanesh granted her herald a crown which could subjugate any lesser daemon or herald and influence the mind of even Keepers.
Powers and Abilities
Subtle Perfection
Instead of overtly enhancing Kallig or those around, Shaski instead takes to providing minor but useful boons. Making scents that bit clearer, improving optical focus or just making sure that each blow follows its intended mark.
Minor Headcanons
Shaski is the oldest of Kallig’s heralds, being formed during the time of the Terran Empires before Old Night while her patron was forming
Along with Truz, Shaski was the driving force behind Ravager and Desolator maintained loyalty to the Everchosen during the Knight’s Revolt
The Crown is believed to have been crafted by a previous Everchosen or Champion of Slaanesh
A blade of indiscript form, due to its polymorphic properties, it acts as a weapon of terror and suffering. Forged with the torment of a sacrificed Night Lord, a single touch of this weapon exposes the victim to torrents of untold suffering with simultaneous ecstasy.
Headpiece - Crown of the Prince
Bestowed to the herald before its binding to the Everchosen, the Crown acts as a mark of authority and prestige. Lesser Daemons are struck by an unwavering loyalty and even Greater Daemons can be swayed by the wearer given enough exposure.
Dress - Vestments of Pleasure
While being little more than claimed material from mortal worlds she has explored, they are used as a sign of a souls claimed in the name of her Eternal Prince. Her current addorment was from a nobel form the Ultramar System, distinguished with a kobalt and golden colouring.
(I still haven’t decided on a solid foundation of Shaski’s model form, but I am leaning towards the Khinerai Lifetakers with some minor conversions for a more Slaaneshi look)
