The family is quite kind; they don't force Kai, but it's still an arranged marriage, as both families want to merge their businesses. Except for the daughter (who will marry Kai), who is very arrogant, and in those days, social class mattered a great deal. She's classist and humiliates all the servants, especially Cinder, as if she knows about her relationship with Kai.
I think in the last few days, Cinder tells Kai that she can't stay at the mansion any longer, almost sobbing against his chest, telling him that they can't be together because of this arranged marriage. He hugs her, comforting her, looking for alternatives, but there's no solution until one day all the servants have the day off because the family is going on a two-day trip to a dinner in another state.
So Cinder is left alone, with no desire to go out. She feels a little overwhelmed by everything that has happened lately. While she's busy, she feels hands on her waist and realizes it's Kai. Surprised he wasn't with his family, they start talking until they discover a secret room in another bedroom. They go inside and both become vulnerable with each other, realizing they love each other more than they thought. She wonders, "Why did I have to fall in love with you of all men?"
Kai kisses her, but it's not just any kiss; it's as if he's plotting something. He takes her to bed, and the inevitable happens: she loves him, doesn't she? Hours later, he wakes up with Cinder asleep on his bare chest, having shown her how much he loves her. There they are, the two of them, under the moonlight, naked by the window. He falls back asleep with a smile.
And within a month, Cinder begins to develop a strong personality, things that make him cry, until she faints in front of his friends, and the rest is history (she cries when she realizes she's going to have a baby and knows she has to leave home, far away from Kai). And she leaves...
On the boat, as she watches the scenery recede from the UK, she touches her belly and tells her baby that it will just be the two of them.
iām sensing a pattern here. i see: infidelity , sex, baby, and time skip where they end up together. which isnāt a bad plot, just something iāve seen before, yk? one, i donāt think they would have sex THAT early on. kai, given his background, wouldnāt be that quick to be vulnerable with someone. i also think he wouldnāt cheat on his wife, even if he didnāt love her. personal thing. if it was levana, he totally would. also, he would feel really bar for leading cinder ok while he was in a marriage. the confession would probably go down as āyouāre making me feel things, i have a wife, this needs to stop.ā he would totally divorce his wife after and collapse in cinderās arms.
as for cinder, she would genuinely leave before it got too badā¦ then kai finds her and convinces her to work for him again. they would try to ve friends but find themselves looking in each others and wandering away together and brushing hands and laughing and UGHHH so much tension. maybe when theyāre alone after kai confesses how much he doesnāt like his wife (but likes cinder) they kiss. i DONāT think theyād have sex. iām sorry, maybe iām vanilla, but theyāre both paranoid and very āself-blamingā people. theyād feel HORRIBLE. drunkā¦ ehhh maybe i still dk. i think cinder would stop it from getting to far and run away cinderella style. i know iām partly responsible for the freakder surge, but that is THE most vanilla couple in the rampion crew.
anyways, the secret baby is justā¦ not kaider to me? cinderās ahh is not keeping that baby i fear. maybe, in certain circumstances, but still, i donāt think sheād raise it alone. I DONāT THINK SHE WOULD GET PREGNANT, SUE ME.
to be completely clear, this is not a bad au. itās good. many people enjoy those plots and all that. iām not a big fan of the cheating and pregnancy trope (unless itās levana, literally cheat as much as you want idcccc levana is SO evil) but if you are, thatās perfectly fine. if you think this would happen, thatās okay!! me personally, no. but to each their own. whatever floats your boat. I DONāT CARE what you hc and what you donāt hc. YOU SHOULDNāT CARE what u hc and not hc. but the maid au is very cute. it feels ooc to me, but i havenāt read the books in a minute. quick question, though, how old are kai and cinder? it feels very experienced x naive from what i read.
