Hey, I don't agree with you on all things Leo fitz, but also, screw that guy who tried to conflate your criticism of AOS's preferential treatment of its white and/or male characters (like seriously?? The only woman who has had a decent major plot line centered on her is Jemma :/ we only found out more about May + Skye when we found men to carry their plots). These writers are seriously struggling. & you shouldn't have to justify celebrating POC and WOC & being mad about injustices done to them!
Hey thanks for the support! However, if you take a look at my blog, you’ll see that his intentions with that ask actually had nothing at all to do with AoS. I was entirely in the wrong as I just assumed his ask was about my post about F/itz and it wasn’t.
As for AoS favouring white characters over characters of colour, I can’t disagree with you there. I mean, Mack gets barely anything and both Trip and Garner were sidelined and killed off for the dumbest reasons.
However, I don’t really agree with the bit you said about May and Daisy vs. Jemma. While Jemma often does have plot lines that appear to revolve around her, more often than not, they are typically revolving around male characters. Most of what she gets has to do with F/itz or F/itzsimmons, so much so that she’s now basically half of the ship and barely a character of her own. Even her alien city plot was taken over by F/itz and Will. Her plot with the director/Inhumans has more to do with whatever Jeffery Mace did, the Senators brother, etc. and less to do with her. Also let’s not forget the infamous torture scene where they never showed Simmons being tortured and only showed how F/itz was reacting to the torture. Doesn’t sound like a female character who has plot lines centred around her amirite?
Whereas the show is literally centred around Daisy and not because she has a male centric plot. In fact, it is actually the other way around: Coulson’s plot in the first couple of seasons pretty much revolved around Skye’s storylines. As for May, we found out a lot about her, storyline-wise, way before we were ever introduced to a male love interest.
The one part I agree with you on is regarding May as this season hasn’t been the best for May as her entire storyline appears to revolve around Coulson and P/hilinda and they appear to have just erased her relationship with Andrew Garner (and yes, that does mean that anything she had with Garner does revolve around a male character but if her storyline HAS to revolve around a male character, I’d rather it be a PoC than a white man lbh)
