There is a role in the breeding of thoroughbred racehorses known as a "teaser" wherein a weaker, less valuable stallion is used to put the mare in estrus rather than risk injuring the prized racehorse with the mare's volatile behavior.
So imagine a fenced pasture full of larger centaurbots with a few pony minibots prancing around them. And when they see a specific pony get desperate and frisky with one of the larger centaurs they know that one is prime for breeding.
I can't help but imagine this with TFA Bumblebee pony with a Blitzwing centaur. Bee trying to desperately hump the larger warhorse. Risking getting kicked at but wanting into that valve anyway. And Blitzwing tolerating it as Bumblebee size is unthreatening and almost cute.

Though I bet Bee does get kicked a few times... Blitzwing is so unpredictable, but Bumblebee likes the thrill. A feisty mare is fun, besides... nothing can stop him from fucking that huge valve. He’s gonna get it right one day, one day he’s going to mount him and slide right into his valve and then it’s all gonna be worth it
