She Cracked - The Modern Lovers OK, now I understand it. There was a set of demos recorded in 1971/2, some of which produced by John Cale, were released in 1976 as The Modern Lovers album and then subsequently another set of demos including some of the same songs which were recorded with the legendary Kim Fowley in 1973 released as The Original Modern Lovers in 1981. The band split in 1974. Jerry Harrison went on to join Talking Heads, David Robinson became the drummer with The Cars and Jonathan Richman decided to give up their hard-edged proto-punk and stunningly original sound for soft-hearted whimsical pop and African reggae. Stuff of legend.
My sister having a concert long meltdown over seeing @taylorswift for the very first time last week honestly made me happier than the concert itself. She really waited over 10 years for this.
