I've been sorting through papers from 40 years ago and found these lovely notes that were left on my door at college by friends when they came round to visit and found I wasn't in.
Two things that are immediately apparent: I left the door unlocked and had a lovely old typewriter. Oh, and a third: I am an inveterate hoarder (who else keeps this stuff?)
Note 1 is from my beautiful friend @annacottis who I sadly rarely get to see, with a footnote from the ever-excellent @tommy.shakes who thankfully I do.
Note 2 is from Anna again ("big bubbles, no troubles") who finding me not in and it being raining decided to borrow my coat. I think I got dinner in return, so fair dos.
Note 3 is from my friend Lucy, but with the more substantial addition from the lovely Jane, who was smart and beautiful and funny, but I never appreciated her enough at the time.
The 4th note is from Jane again being very cute, on another day when she had by now discovered my door was unlocked and that I had a typewriter. If anyone knows where Ms Wilkinson is now it'd be lovely to catch up.
Note 5 is from my very good friend Craig (aka 'Bill Popstar'), who sadly passed away a few years ago. He'd obviously come up from Portsmouth and found me not in, which is almost unforgivable. This must give a terrible impression, but I am really not an unreliable person.
The last note is from Kirsten, who is another someone I haven't seen for nigh on 40 years. Where is she now? I wonder if @dollancannell knows? She was always the kind of person who would have done amazing things. I have no recollection of ever going to a Green on Red concert, but maybe we did 🤔
