Eli! Do you have a crush on anyone?
Eliana: Uuuhmmm...nooo!!!
I bet you get reminded of her every time you see a flower~
”Shush”
That wholesome moment when a kid alter shows up to your therapy session and spends the first part of the session telling your therp about whale sharks and how they’re filter feeders like baleen whales but that they filter using their gills. And then your therp replies by talking about how narwhals are her favorite animal. The unicorn of the sea!!
Anyway kids are great. And so is our therp.
We had a big ol’ rupture with her this week that she did a really good repair for after Galen came for her life, and in session today she said she really appreciated Galen and also talked to this kid about how they don’t actually have to forgive people right away and that it’s good to take time to rebuild trust and that it’s okay to still be upset. And that she’s really glad we have parts like Galen who don’t just forgive and forget like most of us do, and that it’s good that Galen will remember her mistake and pay attention to whether or not it becomes a pattern. And that she certainly hopes it will be an outlier in our data set but it’s okay to track that and hold her accountable.
😱😱😱😱
Like what a good lesson to teach an attach part who just wants things to feel connected and easy again? I don’t blame my brain for sending a connection part in today and Blue definitely LOVED meeting her and spending time with her, but it was jaw dropping and so therapeutic for her to explain to them that it’s healthy and appropriate for trust to take time to come back after a rupture. It’s good to have a wary side. Like that’s how you make sure relationships are safe. So so so so so good for our forgive and forget/attach at all costs parts to hear.
one of my closest friends got to be in a zoom call with hugh jackman. how cool is that??
