Random Memories

My grandmother had beautiful hands.  She had long fingers that she kept beautifully manicured. 

Her hands aged as she aged, but they were always beautiful. Her fingers were never twisted or gnarled - they were perfectly straight until she died in her 90′s.

Grandma used the eraser end of a pencil to dial the phone. The pencils were always short, always had an eraser, and she always had one handy. She must have kept them by the phone at home, but even when we were out and about, she magically produced a pencil when she had to use a pay phone. I wonder if she sharpened new pencils to half their size.

The other day I was watching an old movie and there was a rotary phone, and it made me think of my grandmother - I could clearly picture her dialing a phone. Even when phones went from rotary to touch tone she still used her pencil to dial.  

She passed on ten years ago, but she never used cell phones. I image she would use a stylus on a smart phone if she was still around today.

we are all passionate about eurovision ok. and its totally fine if you are mad about your faves not winning/not doing well. its fine if you need to vent about it. but i swear to god, STOP commenting on other artists posts that they were horrible or that their win/result wasnt deserved. every single one of these artists came to lisbon to do their best and represent their country and to tell them that they didnt deserve something after all the hard work they put into getting the position they got is such a dick move. Commenting "XXX SHOULD HAVE WON" doesnt make your fav look better it just makes you look like a shitty person
