In Westeros, each noble house is known to have an affinity for a particular type of magic. For thousands of years, House Stark was stronger than all of them- holding the north with mages who could command winter herself. When Torrhen Stark knelt to Aegon Targaryen to protect The North from the wrath of dragon flame, however, the Starks forgot the language of winter- their gifts faded into legend. Since then, the children of House Stark have traditionally been born as wargs, or skinchangers.

Sansa Stark is neither- an outcast in her own family, no matter how hard she prays. Years pass, and Sansa’s dreams remain silent, devoid of wolves, while water refuses to rise at her fingertips as it does for Robb. Only Jon, who keeps the secret of his own magic, comes close to understanding. No matter how Sansa wishes she could stay with him, they walk different paths, and she has to travel south- reconciling herself to a life away from Winterfell.

Until they cut off her father's head, and Sansa Stark freezes over all of Blackwater Bay in her grief.

Sansa’s fury awakens in her a power that hasn’t been seen in Westeros since the arrival of Aegon the Conqueror. As a result, the very fate of Westeros is altered.

Winterfell adjusts to the rhythm of a royal visit, Sansa receives a surprising proposal, and tragedy strikes House Stark.

7, 10, 17 and 23 with Bill, Fleur, Luna?

Aww, I just wanted to make it difficult by choosing these three�� I’m so happy that someone else likes Fleur!! I don’t get all the hate directed towards her (especially Hermione, Ginny and Molly are nasty - I think part of their treatments is, as lame as it sounds, based on jealousy… ��

Oh, absolutely. It’s where I get my headcanon that Bill is Ginny’s favourite brother. Because her behaviour makes so much more sense from the perspective of a little sister who’s really fucking bitter about the fact that she’s ‘loosing’ her favourite big brother.

Hermione, I think, does have legitimate reasons to be pissy about how much Ron (and everybody else) looses his head over Fleur, but that she takes it out on Fleur instead of confronting Ron about it is shitty. Hermione is very much the nerdy archetype who resents the ‘pretty, popular’ girls for their popularity, and tries to make up for it by holding even tighter to her intelligence and belittling ‘shallow’ girls. (Her attitude towards Lavender and Parvati, as well, is a sign of that.)

As for Molly... well, she’s an over-bearing mother at the best of times, and she is very, very convinced that she knows what’s best for her children. And ultimately, what she thinks is best for them fits very strongly into archetypal gender roles and nuclear family values. She doesn’t like Bill’s long hair, she wants Charlie to ‘settle down’, she doesn’t approve of the twin’s more creative ventures, and she absolutely cannot stand the idea of her children growing up.

She shows that most in Order of the Phoenix (which is just one of the reasons why I actually cannot reread that book without ragequitting), with trying to keep her younger children entirely ignorant of the war, and getting even more controlling over Ginny, the youngest, when her control on the others slips. Bill getting married? Well, of course she wants that. In theory. In practise, she doesn’t want to admit her children are growing up and becoming independant of her. So she dislikes Fleur for, well, replacing her as the most important woman in Bill’s life. So she’ll find anything to dislike about her as proof that she’s ‘not good enough’ for her precious baby boy.

There’s also the fact that Fleur actually is a really good match for Bill. I know Ginny was trying to belittle their relationship when she said that Bill only liked her because he likes a bit of excitement, but I honestly think that that’s the case. He’s the wizarding world’s Indiana Jones. He’s going off an having grand adventures risking his life for the thrill and the glory. And Fleur is going to be there with him every step of the way. This is the girl who signed up for the Triwizard Tournament, who faced a dragon, a monster-infested lake, and an even more monster-infested maze for glory. (And a little bit of treasure at the end.) They’re going to have so much fun together.

And they’re absolutely not going to ‘settle down’ and have two-point-five kids in a cute little cottage by the sea. (Because fuck that. During a war? Sure, they’ll man a safe-house and put their careers on a back-burner. But afterwards? Nope. Don’t believe it.) They’re going to be tromping off to the middle of the amazon rainforest to explore mayan ruins. I bet they conceive their first kid in some cave-in looking for mystical relics in the Himalayas, and Fleur gives birth in an ancient Roman temple. Victoire grows up with a working knowledge of a dozen languages and a really skewed idea of what counts as a ‘safe environment’.

And until she gets her head out of her ass, Molly just cannot believe that that would make anyone happy, because it wouldn’t make her happy.

(Sorry about the ramble, I really, really hate the way Molly treats her kids. Every single one of them, including her kids-in-law.)

Not really a question, but I'm just happy to find someone else who loves Rika.

Yayy yes anon I’d defend Rika with my life. I love her, and I love you for loving her too! I wish people would understand that loving a character doesn’t mean you endorse any of the bad things they do, and that characters who do terrible things can still deserve redemption. People seem to grasp this concept just fine with other characters, but as soon as you try to explain it to them when applied to Rika they’re all:

But what can you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ People are entitled to their opinions. And mine is that she needs help and love as soon as possible.

I watched the new Tangled show in its entirety today. It seems interesting and well written, though the new animation takes some getting used to.

I especially like the thought that has gone into character and relationship development, specifically with the addition of Cassandra to the cast. So far she seems like a complex and relatively unlikable person, which is interesting to see in a disney cartoon.
