It just occurred to me that Angella hugging Adora and saying “no, this is not your destiny” before taking her place in the portal is probably the first time an adult has ever taken the burden of being the hero/savior off Adora’s shoulders and said “no, child. This is not your responsibility, let me handle this for you.” You can see it in how horrified and then amazed and grateful she is as Angella flies away. And fuck that just makes me so sad. Like, no wonder the girl has a messiah complex ffs
