Official redesign of Welsh (and probably Shedar) in Welsh&Shedar anime
We finally know how Zabelle Sheran Sharm, Queen of Bonta and guardian of the Ebony Dofus, looks like! After all that confusion arising from the mysterious woman featured in the second volume of the Great Wave, our questions have finally been answered.
Well, all except for one. Because now I wonder, which race does Zabelle belong to?
@cocogum believes she could be a Huppermage. Honestly, it's entirely plausible given her colour scheme, where white and blue are so prevalent. As well as the fact that the two only known Dofus guardians have both been Huppermages–Jahash and Julith. Just like Bonta has quite the history with their race, with even Queen Astra and her wife surrounding themselves with them, even if we have no indication that they are Huppermages themselves.
However, it should be noted that Welsh & Shedar takes place centuries ago, in the Dofus era, but after the events of the show and the movie. And back then, things were very different for the Bontarian royal family. Not only were they ruled by the Sheran Sharms, who we all know today as the Sadida Kingdom's ruling family, but they weren't always ruled by Huppermages.
No, if you ask me, Zabelle is an Osamodas.
Why? You must be asking.
For a plethora of reasons, really. For starters, back in the Dofus era, not only were the Sheran Sharms the royal family of Bonta, but they were Osamodas too. Such a King Leorictus, the Grimacing King, or his ancestor, King Clustus. And depending on the timeline, the Osamodas didn't look anywhere near as animalistic as they do now.
(Also, don't tell me Leorictus isn't literally Ashdur with a crown smh)
But most importantly, I think further proof of Zabelle being an Osamodas resides in her character design. In a very particular piece of clothing, to be precise:
Her headdress, which resembles raven wings. Which, unless they changed it after all these years, were also related to Shedar's powerset: her son could grow wings out of his mask. Moreover, what's that thing Ankama seems hellbent on making sure we don't forget when it comes to the Osamodas class?
They're closely related to ravens and/or crows.
Queen Zabelle Sheran Sharm is an Osamodas from the Dofus era. Thank you for coming to my TED-Talk.

Hekima gently comforts Shedar (and take his poncho to her for warm)
I think that catowl is @shedardark ‘cause she’s fluffy and warm :3
