Clay
My friend and I had ceramics class together and she was making clay animals for people. One person asked for a penguin, one for a panda, one for a sheep, a snake, a rat. But I asked for a frog. sure I asked last but she made mine first. I love my little frog. She has an amazing talent for things, and is also a great friend. She doesn't have Tumblr and I'm not good at expressing my emotion in real life so she'll never know how much I appreciate that frog. <3
No, not necessarily, we wouldn’t. Radical feminism is flexible, we understand that we’ve come a long way since the second wave. Women are conditioned since birth to do domestic and emotional labor for men, and patriarchy still succeeds in getting (career) women to do that while capitalism exploits them out of the home. Other than strawmanning radfem your analysis is correct.
You’re right and this is something that should be approached with more compassion and nuance. House work is real work. Some people (male and female) just naturally gravitate towards domestic labor. Society should stop making norms out of things that should be far more exclusive like university.
Yes.
Not to sound like a liberal choice feminist, but you should have that choice. We can and should criticize counterproductive actions and problematic lifestyles without alienating individual women.
Good for you. I take issue with that last sentence though. Remember, “empowering” means what produces power. It has nothing to do with what anybody personally likes. Low wages is more empowering than no wages because money is economic power. But the empowering option doesn’t always appeal to the individual and that’s fine. Not every woman wants to be a girlboss SheEO and not every woman can be — and not every woman needs to be in a position of power in order for us to empower and liberate women as a class.

In Defense of a Senator
Written for @celebrate-the-clone-wars Writing Wednesday prompt, “Bodyguard”!
This turned out rather long. Sorry. I kind of got carried away. But it was fun to write. Thanks for the prompt!
On a diplomatic mission with Senator Lethaa Daal, Lieutenant De'von Pra'Ling of the Coruscant Security Force learns that guarding someone who doesn't need to be protected offers some unique challenges - especially when events take an unexpected turn.
Words: 6040
* * *
“I am simply considering your safety, Senator Daal,” Chancellor Palpatine said smoothly, placing a hand over his heart in a placating manner. His words were almost drowned out by the droning of a ship as it touched down three landing pads away from them.
De'von Pra'Ling stood at attention as he watched the standoff with a sense of bewilderment. When the Chancellor had asked him to accompany a Senator on their diplomatic mission, he was expecting a rich-robed bookish type with a love of money and a fear of blasters.
He was not expecting a towering Togruta woman with muscular arms, a cybernetic hand and forearm, a fierce expression, and teeth hanging from her belt the length of his shin.
