Commercial Traveller - What have you got, waiter? Waiter - Sheep’s head, calf’s liver and pig’s feet. Commercial Traveller - Great Scott! I don’t want to know about your physical deformities; I want something to eat.

Sheep’s Head Adventures - Pt. 3
The final photo from my wee trip round the Sheep's Head peninsula yesterday, taken just before the northern route meets back up with the road into Bantry.
I took roughly 30 shots using this general composition, but oddly enough all but this one intentionally had the foreground gorse bush in focus and the church / rainbow out of focus. I tried one single photo with those focal points inverted, "just in case", and it turned out to be the best shot in the end.
I would have liked to have tried to frame the shot so that the rainbow arced straight down onto the church steeple, but it would have required some gate climbing and farm trespassing, and that would be bold!
But I'm happy with how this turned out in any case.

Sheep’s Head Adventures - Pt. 1
Took an impromptu drive out along the Sheep's Head peninsula yesterday, taking the southern route via Durrus & Kilcrohane on the way out, and looping back to Bantry on the northern route.
In typical Irish fashion, it bucketed rain as soon I got out of the car at the head of the peninsula, so I didn't make the short trek on foot as far as the lighthouse -- though I did see an old man on a tiny motorbike rocketing off down the windy pathway, with his dog perched in front of him!
As I turned to drive back, the clouds raced inland ahead of me, and the sun broke out behind, bathing the whole landscape in an incredible golden light. Cue me jumping out of the car every 30 seconds or so to attempting to capture the magnificent spectacle. This is one of my favourite shots of the day, taken on the northern coastline somewhere near Galladoo (I think).
I may be biased, but I think West Cork could be one of the most beautiful places in the world!
