The move & the life changes have proven to be more emotionally & physically exhausting than I could have ever anticipated. You all have been so patient & KIND. My #shopkids are HAPPY & wild! Rolling w/ the new normal like pros! . -Tonight, I picked up a load of stuff from Mom’s house, @hartvx & moved it to the new house. We now live in my grandparents home where ALL my fam grew up. Generations for 60+ years. A sanctuary! I happened to grab a few things that hit me pretty hard. I’m setting them up while trying to be happy about the future, tearily respecting my family, this space, & my personal past. . I’m getting back to work! The best I can! I don’t have shop mats yet. I don’t have a lot of things. But the journey & the search is the best part! I did have this thing... . One thing I’ve kept over the years is this “welcome” mat. This is from the second to last business that I worked for, for anyone but myself. This is the same establishment that made me understand that I did not want to work for anyone else but myself. . I still love my old coworkers. Those memories. Some of my favorites. But even more, I love that it made me realize that there is just so much more. . Before @barrelokc closed, I had given myself a goal. You have ONE year to get out. Out of late nights, bars, a lifestyle that provided for my kids, but didn’t include them. To build #pigsflyshop & to be a better person. The Barrel unexpectedly closed six months shy of my personal goal. All of us were left scrambling. I had luckily put enough #PFS in place, that I knew we’d be ok. Barely, but we were ok. . This story gets so much longer, & harder... but that is not the story I want to tell. I want this story to be about hope. Faith, family, conviction, & PROGRESS. . This rug “welcomed” me into a new chapter of my life way back when. & now it welcomes me into another chapter..
