Today in my Uni media class we had the age old debate about Tom Cruise with the two key points being:

Top Gun and Top Gun Maverick (Good)

Scientology (Bad)

Based on this my new theory if is that if Tom Cruise ever makes a movie that is even slightly bad his career will be over because of the Scientology thing.

Also learned that a lot of people don't know his best buddy David Miscavige ~ Allegedly ~ has his wife (Shelly Miscavige) locked in a basement somewhere

i love Top Gun so much that i have now paid to see it four times in theaters, but not a single viewing has gone by where i haven’t thought to myself during a random Tom Cruise scene, “that man knows where Shelly Miscavige is”

Well-known Scientology defector Leah Remini asked multiple questions about her while in the organization and was always told that she was away. Once Remini left the church, she filed a missing-persons report, but the LAPD ruled it unfounded, claiming that they had met with Shelly. Many believe she is living at the church's remote forest compound, "the Church of Spiritual Technology" — and some believe she is being held against her will.
