We’ve all heard the famous tagline nowadays, “Paki-explain. Lab U!” that started from a segment in GMA 7’s gag show, Bubble Gang popularized by a mother who trash talks her own children. (maybe “trash talk” is a wrong term, but you get the idea) Now social media has given birth to a new internet figure, Donya Ina. And if you are thinking that she resides in FB and Twitter only, you’ll be surprised to know that she is, in fact, an active Tumblirista.
The Donya Ina in Tumblr (donyaina.tumblr.com) is different from the Donya Ina’s in other social networking sites. As you can see from her posts in her blog, she does not only trash talks her children, but sometimes she cheers them up as well. She gives advice to the lovers, the lovesick, and the loveless. She is very comfortable in pointing out her children’s foolishness and is not scared of using tough words especially when making a point. She is brutally honest but heartwarmingly kind. She uses sarcasm as a powerful weapon and I have no doubt that she has mastered it well.
If you are painting a ruthless, sarcastic and selfish person who worships herself in your mind as the image of Donya Ina, you are wrong because you’ll be surprised to know that she is religious too. She posts inspirational verses and keeps on reminding her children to pray especially at night.
Though her blog posts are sometimes all about love, there are also some posts that tackle about life; its perks and jerks. She gives practical and blunt advice and her advice never fails to make people smile. It may sound silly, but when you give it some thinking, you will realize that they do make sense.
Honestly, as a blogger, my dashboard will never be the same without her.
