Stuck In A Blizzard

The forecast said to expect winds up to 45 mph, low visibility, and up to a foot of snow. That was about the amount they would usually expect in a single winter. They’d stocked up on food, batteries, candles, blankets, and had plenty of wood for the fireplaces, and they were snuggled up on the sofa, watching the fire, the snow blowing around outside, and listening to the weather forecast.

Kaidan was warm, comfy, and drowsy and promptly dozed off wrapped up in John’s arms, his head resting on his shoulder. Kaidan didn’t know how long he’d slept, but he slowly became aware of lips leaving kisses along his jawline and even behind his ear, a hand under his shirt, stroking gently across his upper stomach, and John whispering his name.

He was still warm, comfy, and drowsy and didn't really want to wake up. His answer, “mmwarm, sleepy”, made John laugh quietly, the breath of it barely brushing Kaidan’s ear. Kaidan touched John’s face, tilting it up slightly so he could give him a kiss. “Best blizzard ever.”

John smiled through the kiss before pulling away.

”Definitely.”

Shepard wouldn’t surrender the dogtags from the Normandy’s crashsite to anyone else other than crew. After Horizon, Anderson sends Kaidan to Illium and they use Liara’s apartment as a neutral meeting place. Things aren’t yet resolved, but when Shepard hands over his own dogtags in case he doesn’t make it back, the biotic becomes overwhelmed.

It’s been a few years since he left the Atom Cats to join the Minutemen in reclaiming the Commonwealth, but Kaidan Alenko recognizes him. It’s becoming a habit to find the Silver Shroud joining them in battle whenever he’s near Goodneighbor, but there have also been several occasions where the masked man swooped in with that dramatically overdone voice to save Kaidan personally.

John Shepard may be fooling everyone else, but Kaidan knows those intense blue eyes anywhere. Remembers finding excuses to lean against one of those broad shoulders during poetry night at the garage, watching those quick fingers helping Rowdy repair power armor.

When the Silver Shroud breaks character, just for a moment, to call out his name when it looks like a Super Mutant will get the better of him, Kaidan realizes those feelings aren’t unrequited.

"Last Shenk Thursday"? So there Will never be another one?

Unfortunately with the lack of participation and most of the mods leaving, there’s no point in continuing. If interest flares with a OT remaster, you bet it’ll be back.
