I may be delusional but that March of The Witch Hunters moment where we see Pfannee & Shenshen by the crowd....

Shenshen is looking at the mob, very clearly horrified. I think what she's seeing the most of is just how many people there are. How many citizens were ready to go out with fire and pitchforks. That's enough to get any rational person terrified (the citizens, in that moment, are definitely not rational) and consider the fact that Elphaba was at least someone that she knew once, even if she never liked her.

But Pfannee is looking at something specific, and I think that that something is Boq. And the Tin Man is the one that's leading the crowd, so he'll definitely be prominent at the front. Also. That's The Tin Man. In my Shenpfoq heart I'd like to think this is the moment when it clicks for him that that is - or was - Boq.

Because there's no way they didn't see Dorothy & Co. in the Palace when they were there for the Wizard. I personally believe that they were some of the people that actually led them to the doors of the room, being some of the higher assistants. I don't think they would have recognized Boq in that moment. I honestly think they'd be too freaked out by just the entire group to look that closely.

This is when the Yellow Brick group is leaving to kill Elphaba, so when the two go back inside and Pfannee tells Shenshen about what he saw, then they're gonna be stuck there thinking about it until the group gets back. If they do, because with how things had been lately, there's a not-insignificant chance that they won't.

AND!! And the camera angles!!

They're standing with their backs to a wall, and the way that it frames Boq walking by is from one stationary spot and following him as he goes. In my beautiful world that moment is kind of from Pfannee's POV. Focusing on the axe and then moving to the face of the Tin Man, and it focuses on his face until it cuts off. I like to think that that's the moment it hits.
