I thought it was surprising to see Wanda Ventham on Coupling - and then I got to the first episode of season 4, “9 1/2 Minutes”, originally aired 2004. 

That, in the striped top, is Amanda Abbington. (The guy is Richard Mylan and the other woman Pandora Colin.) 

So at least five years before casting Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in Sherlock, Steven Moffat had already worked with BC’s mother and MF’s partner. The British entertainment industry really is a small place, isn’t it?

Has Yasmine Akram, Dionne Vincent, Jessie Hawkes and Sophie Slavin been id on setlock yet?

Hiya nonny!

Short answer, no.

Long answer:

Yasmine Akram: We have neither a character name nor a confirmation she was at setlock. One fan reported from Gloucester Cathedral that they spotted her, but the report was not verified. We have a few blurry photos of a woman that was thought to be Dionne Vincent, but isn’t, and now to some appears to be Yasmine. It’s still an unknown thing. (x) (x) (x)

Dionne Vincent: As mentioned above, it was thought she was at Gloucester Cathedral, but she tweeted herself that the supposed picture of her (now suspected as possible Yasmine or another female) was not her at all. (x) We don’t know :(

Jessie Hawkes (Lady in Black, according to IMDB), tweeted back in mid-Jan, and all we know was that she was part of the Gloucester shoot. (x) (x) (x)

Sophie Slavin: I’m not sure I remembered hearing about her before, but yeah according to IMDB she is a uniformed police officer. Now, I definitely just sleuthed (stalked her?) and found this, not that that provides us with a ton of info.  

I guess all will be revealed...at...some point. *sigh*

And the way Martin played the lines started to alter how Benedict was playing it. Benedict suddenly engaged in a slightly different way - a bit funnier and a bit warmer.

I was okay with all the nepotism occuring in Sherlock. We've had Mark Gatiss's husband, Martin Freeman's wife, Benedict Cumberbatch's parents and now Steven Moffat and Sue Vertue's son. But then I realised that Sherlock was pretty much the best thing to happen to Andrew Scott's career. He has been huge since the first series, despite pretty minor screen time. Pretty much everyone admits that, right? So what if the same thing had happened to some of the other actors? Maybe not to the same extent as they have all had smaller roles, but it feels a little unfair that there's so much nepotism on the show
