Guys, your theories are fantastic but what's EMP / EDT for God's sake??? Enlighten me, please.

Sorry for the confusion, @sherlock-addict. In a nutshell, EMP stands for Extended Mind Palace. It’s an idea that a couple of us began entertaining back in January, that could possibly explain the missing time / wonky happenings of HLV. (You can’t check out my reality vs mind palace tag for a whole lot more on this theory if you want) EDT stands for Extended Dream Theory and is a concept based on clues and parallels from Doctor Who. The term was coined by the amazeballs @tjlcisthenewsexy and is explained in their mind-blowing meta, John’s Choice. The idea of EMP and EDT aren’t exactly the same, but they are closely related and are only given as possibilities as to what is going on in HLV and TAB.

I know we're all internally - and externally - screaming about the prospect of Garridebs, but let's make it worse: What if Sherlock isn't there? Like, ASIP and TRF parallels of Sherlock and John being separated with just a phone in between them (God and that does make the phone = heart metaphor even worse). What if Sherlock an John are on the phone when Sherlock hears the shot? When he hears John's surprised grunt? John's ragged breathing? WHAT IF SHERLOCK ISN'T THERE WITH HIM?!

Pilot!verse John and Sherlock arriving at John’s bedsit - because Baker Street is still locked up and still technically a crime scene - and they’ll waste no time, no matter how much Sherlock’s stomach feels like it has twisted itself into knots or how his heart feels like it’s going to jump out of his chest. 

John is there, all around him, nuzzling his neck, asking him over and over if this is alright, and oh God, Sherlock, look at you... and yes, yes, yes, this is alright. He wants this. He needs it.
