Her Might
roaring
like the thunder in the night
when the storm rolls in
with all of her might
burning
like fire in the sky
the sun before it dies
she will not be quiet
mighty
like a hurricane
headed for the shore
leaving behind change
the dragon
she loved fearlessly
searching for her prince to be
and he rode into her life
like a perfect white knight
the prologue of this story
is short and sweet
it’s the chapters in between
when words don’t mean what they mean
the knight who promised salvation
became a flame raging dragon
inside burning her hopes and dreams
outside perfect everything must seem
she was never raised for battle
a princess from an unholy castle
real knights never came to save
a vicious violent cycle, to which she was a slave
the last chapter in this story never ends
because every night in her dreams it begins again
the dragon burns her from the inside out
leaving a broken heart filled with fear and doubt

I am beautiful! You are beautiful! . . . Ladies, how often do we look in the mirror and say this? I don’t think often enough. It’s empowering. There’s a bear inside ready to take on this world. She is strong, fierce, beautiful, magnificent, independent, and ready to roar as loud as she can. She can be as gentle as a mother with a newborn cub, or as brutal as an attacker defending her home.
