📕 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 📕 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗘 by Sheryl Browne ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝘆𝘀 I’m so thrilled to share my thoughts on The Invite, as part of the tour hosted by publisher Bookouture. Thank you for my spot of the tour and for the copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. 𝗠𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 I couldn’t I wait to start reading The Invite, and was hooked just from reading the synopsis, but even more so by the time I was on the second chapter. As you would now expect from Sheryl Brown, this book has enough twists and turns to put me in a neck brace for a week. I simply could not get enough of the story, and as with quality books like this, I wanted to race through for the answers, but didn’t want it to end too quickly. I’m such a cynic that Kaitlin’s perfect engagement to an apparently perfect man to build their perfect family was, for me, doomed from the outset. But then again, I didn’t come for the romance. I came for the nail biting tension of a thriller. This book delivers tension in spades. The characters were well written with a good amount of development throughout. I did really like and felt empathy for Kaitlin. She became so uncertain of the truth and how to protect Ruby, while worrying about her friend Zoe. But, she became more and held things together and evolved into a stronger woman. It was good that her family were so supportive, particularly her father. There are certain words used to describe books. Unputdownable is one of the words that I’m not keen on. But, it describes this book perfectly! What you get is a compelling story that piles on heaps of tension with a not overly fast pace, making it a pleasure to read. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a great thriller that will end up in your top twenty reads of 2022. Vi svelo la lettura misteriosa a cui vi ho accennato qualche giorno fa: La Babysitter Perfetta, che esce oggi! 😉 . . Ringrazio la Garzanti che mi ha permesso di leggerlo in anteprima, visto che la trama mi incuriosiva parecchio e finalmente posso dire: un bel thriller psicologico, che è imprevedibile nonostante le cose siano palesi e vengano addiruttura dette fin dal primo momento le intenzioni di alcuni personaggi. Infatti questo è uno dei suoi punti di forza: la prevedibilità.... . . Una storia all'apparenza molto semplice che però nasconde tante di quelle insidie che ti fanno iniziare a dubitare di chi si può avere intorno. Ovviamente questa storia è portata al limite, perché credo sia difficile che una situazione del genere possa capitare (per come strutturato il romanzo), però resta possibile e tiene sempre alto il dubbio verso chi riponiamo la nostra fiducia. . . Visto lo stile e questa originalità sarebbe davvero interessante leggere altro di questa autrice, perché il romanzo è molto scorrevole, decisamente originale ed interessante, coinvolge tantissimo il lettore e viene proprio voglia di scoprire come andrà avanti tutto questo, nonostante si conoscano tantissimi dettagli. . . Se volete sapere di più sulla trama, trovate la mia opinione completa sul blog 😉 . . . . . E già che ci siamo, lo consiglio pure per #MarzoDiDonneEDiLibri È una novità, ma l'autrice resta donna e potete farci un pensiero anche in questo caso.
