My flesh is weak, but God you are the one who has the power of righteousness in me. May you perfect me in my weaknesses, may you be my strength and my portion forever. Give me your grace and your mercy to dwell in everyday and in every way. Help me to run away from temptation and be heart broken for things that break your heart and love the things you love. Prayer in the Bible: Day 1, 7.7.14 -Prayers of Praise

Waking up, what is the first thing that I do?

Well usually its wanting to go back to sleep but lazily turning off my alarm, tucking myself back into bed and fighting with my own drowsiness as I tell myself that I should get up from my bed and start my day. I usually look at my phone one more time and see if there are any important messages then make my way to use the restroom.

But wait, I didn't even get to pray and say "Good Morning Lord."

As the devotion similarly mentioned, the writer states that sometimes she forget that it was God who woke her up this morning. After seeing the Glory of God manifested through the unique sunrise of the day, she realized that God reminds her of Him. "He’s gifted this intentional reminder of “glory in the heavens.” This evident, majestic work of His hands."

Our prayer, as we start our day should be a prayer of praise and thanksgiving. Right when we wake up, it should be a "THANK YOU GOD for a new day!"

Praising God, as David did in Psalm 8, should be our automatic response right when we wake up. I like how David says, 

"O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens"

I can imagined he is beating his breast in awestruck of God's manifestation of His glory in all things. God's majesty is so unfathomable that how can we not give Honor and Praise

Let your first prayer today be one of praise. Forget yourself completely. Share with Him your gasp at His greatness, singing a prayerful song of praise:
