Personal History Day 3: TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOM . . . . . . . . This vivacious, creative, strong and independent woman was born in post WWII Germany 🇩🇪. She never knew her father who died during the war when she and my uncle were under 3 years old. In the early 70s she decided to leave her life in Germany and headed to Miami, Florida where she met my dad. My mom was strict and there were rules and manners and expectations. But she was also so loving, affectionate, playful, involved and so supportive of our dreams and hopes. When I think about the kind of mother I want to be, all I have to do is tap into my memories and experiences. She taught me how to love myself and others. She helped us understand our world and exposed us to other worlds through travel and stories. I don't get to see her as often and like since she splits her time between Minnesota and Nebraska.
