"I appreciate you agreeing to accompany me on this mission, Captain. I truly do. But like I told you before you signed on, it’s due to get... sticky.” He stared out over the precipice in front of them, too far for even a super soldier to jump but just far enough for one gifted with the weird to find doable. It wasn’t, however, the gap that yawned between them and the continuation of the tunnels they were in that worried him.
What worried him, of course, was the aura the place had which he had no expectation the soldier with him had picked up on. They’d had to descend several leagues before he’d noticed it himself, but the longer they walked in the dark tunnels with only their flares and flash lights to guide them, the stronger the feeling had become. He was certain they were being watched, or more specifically scried upon. There was no entity nearby that could have managed going unnoticed to his wards if it was close enough to watch them, which meant they were being actively watched from a distance via some spell he didn’t have the time to diagnose. All that mattered now was alerting his compatriot to their predicament - and by that he didn’t mean just getting across the chasm.
“And right now, sticky doesn’t just mean that we need to get to that tunnel entrance over there,” he said, pointing to the darkened alcove they were staring at from the other end of seeming impossibility. “It also means,” he added, “that we need to be watching our backs. We’ve been being watched at least most of the way down here, and I’m not exactly sure by what or by whom.” Not the most helpful statements, he knew, but until they got down to the catacombs where the artifacts he needed lay waiting, they didn’t have time for him to back-track and trace their observers.
“Now, I’ve got more than a few ideas on how to get over there, since the cloak can’t - or won’t, really, it’s gotten finicky and lazy lately - lift two people. But if you’ve got any more impressive ideas than a little levitation, I’m open to suggestions.”

Clark made a sound, and lifted the heavy war piece of war machine off the ground, using his strength to toss it aside. When he was certain the warrior beneath the rubble was not mortally wounded, helping them to their feet, he paused and looked around. That was when he noticed it happening - people, beginning to turn to ash. “What the--?” He frowned, brow furrowing, and tuned his hearing in to search for the voices of his friends. He might have breathed a sigh of relief at hearing Steve Roger’s voice in the distance, if not for the voices he wasn’t hearing. Around him, people were crying out, confused and panicked. This was it. Thanos had won. He had promised that he would cull half the universe’s population and he had. Instantly, and before their very eyes, people were vanishing.
It seemed different than death - it didn’t appear to be painful, but disorienting. And there didn’t seem to be any pattern to who it was effecting. No, it was truly random, just as the Titan had promised. “Steve? Cap?” He called, following the sound of Bucky’s voice, before it was abruptly cut short. Oh, no. Bucky, he’d been taken. There was no other word for it. “Steve?” He broke through the treeline and came upon Steve and their allies. Steve looked confused, lost. “He’s gone, isn’t he? Bucky? It’s all over, Cap. It’s happening all over.” / @shieldwielder

“ C’mon, where is it? “ she mumbles to herself, rummaging through a clutter-filled drawer. Glances behind her briefly to make sure the security guard is still UNCONSCIOUS, before delving in once more. Jess can think of a dozen other things she’d rather be doing, but the success of her current case all DEPENDS on a tiny flash drive, one that’s proving very difficult to find. The P.I is just about ready to flip the desk over when her gaze wanders over to a laptop, the very OBJECT she’s been searching for plugged into it. Of course. She rolls her eyes, pulling the USB out and shoving it in her pocket before turning to leave. There’s someone stood in the doorway, however, BLOCKING the way out ( and here she was thinking this would be easy ). “ Look, I’m not here to fight. So if you don’t mind scooching on over, that’d be great,” she sighs, eyes darting over to the window nearby should she need an EMERGENCY exit. It’s only the third floor, shouldn’t hurt much. “ Well? I’m not standing around here all day. “
@shieldwielder liked for a starter. from MATT for STEVE
❛ I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT. ❜ he’s playing it coy. & he’s playing it that way on purpose. matt’s no genius but he’s smart enough to put together that he’s talking with a known fugitive. with captain america. or WHATEVER the man was going by now. the last thing he anticipated was being confronted about being daredevil. ❛ listen, sir, i think you’ve got me confused with someone else & i’m not sure why we’re even having this discussion. ❜ his arms are crossed & his head is shaking. what could he have possibly wanted ? daredevil worked outside of the accord, but he certainly wasn’t an AVENGERS level target.
