red legion troops litter the ground around a lone titan, who had sat down on a rotting tree stump in the middle of the clearing, after the gunfight. a squad of legionaries against a single sentinel could only spell disaster for one party, and it wasn’t the sentinel.
there’s some kind of grace to moments like this, he’d come to learn over time, just you and your rifle during the lull between patrols. he finds himself fidgeting with it frequently, as he is right now, making sure it’s still looking and working the way it’s meant to, though he’s confident with his own work to know that it will be.
he does it with all of his guns, and he always will. he still has to be sure.
“to your left, 44.” a little voice over his shoulder breaking the silence makes him jump, and he lifts his head to look around.
“who?” is all banshee can say, in regards to the ghost’s nickname, before he spots another guardian lingering in the treeline. his vague confusion is hidden by his helmet. head tilting, he brings himself to sit up straight and stare.
and then, he waves.
