The sun had only just started to set behind them, casting a golden glow over the ebony hedgehog’s fur. He smiled slightly at the green hedgehog sitting across from him before taking the last sip of his coffee. It had truly been a magnificent idea to have a date at this coffee shop. I mean, it was a date? Wasn’t it? Shadow decided not to overthink it.

It had been a pleasant autumn day out, the breeze was cool but not too chilly and the sun had been engulfing them in it’s warm sunshine. But now with the sun beginning to disappear over the horizon, it had begun to get a little nippy out. Shadow reached behind him to grab his leather jacket from where it had been draped over his chair before slipping it back on. Then he turned his attention once more to Spike. He smile faded and his head tilted to the side in concern. Something about the green hedgehog was...off.

“Are you alright?”
