It’s where the money is at! But a killer on the body!
Working the shift again, and feeling thankful for it ^_^ so here's the tune of the day, powered by the Cellmates!
Do you know any nurses who work in doctors offices, or pediatric doctors offices? Are the requirements for those jobs different than hospital requirements? I really never want to work in an ER because of the strange shift hours and the stress, mostly because I have a chronic illness that would be affected by both those things pretty severely. I’d also like to work in a doctors office because it would allow me to have a regular hours job, which will be nice when I have kids.
Generally offices are much more relaxed in their requirements due to the lower acuity of patients seen there, but they vary from practice to practice.
In terms of hours, You would have to pry my 12 hour shifts from my cold, dead hands. I love only working 3 days a week, and I would never willingly change it to a 9-5 office job. Many people love working in the Emergency department because the shifts are so flexible. We have 12 hour shifts that start at 7AM, 8AM, 9AM, 11AM, 3PM, and 7PM.
You have kids that you drive to school? no problem, do a 9-9 shift. you have to pick them up at 2? okay, do a 3-3 shift. Vacation coming up? schedule your shifts at the begining of this week and the end of next: now you have a week and a half off.
I thought I would hate it, but here I am advocating for it lol
Time to rev it up! Kick the bad vibes away.
Mr. Dead Kiss
10 min late to work this morning and have to physically write out a stupid to/from memo to my management why. Feel like I'm a kid in school with a parent's note. It's so dumb. There's more traffic some days than others. Today, a bridge that never goes up went up for a boat to go by.
