Shikaku x Kakashi. thoughts.
....I thought you meant SHUKAKU for a solid minute and was like. You know what? I never would've considered it, but I'm listening
(is this because I read a very tasty Kurama/Kakashi not too long ago? Maybe so)
But hell yeah, I vibe with that ship. Kakashi obviously respects Shikaku a hell of a lot - didn't he say he thought he should be Hokage instead of him? I get the sense that Shikaku is someone he really looks up to, as a highly intelligent strategist who's spent a long time both on the frontlines and immersed in the politics of Konoha.
Plus.......... he seems like a great father-figure, as far as father-figures in Naruto go. He took an interest in Shikamaru's training and seemed to support him quite a lot, even though he was dismayed by Shikamaru's lack of resolve. And like, low bar, but he encouraged Shikamaru to make his own decisions and to befriend Naruto if he wanted to, instead of forcing him to avoid him! He’s a decent dad.
Anyway, Hatake Daddy-Issues Kakashi is looking disrespectfully and wants to lick his facial scars
