I just woke up and I have an intense urge to write some shintodo so here ya go (There's some light nsfw, be warned) :

When Shinsou first joined the hero course Todoroki didn't really care about him

Not in the same way he cared about Bakugou or Kirishima, at least

He looked down on Shinsou, unconciously, and it pissed Shinsou off

So he made it his personal mission to beat Todoroki

Whenever they were paired against each other hell fire rained from the skies

Biting remarks, crude names, lots of screaming

Dare I say, a lot like Bakugou against Midoriya

Except it's more Bakugou than Midoriya in their fights because they both get so heated

Despite popular belief, Shinsou does get under Todoroki's skin, and Shinsou knows it

Shinsou loves talking about Todoroki's family situation, and his scar, just to get a rise out of him

It presses all the right buttons to get Todoroki to go all out

And when that happens, Shinsou finally feels that Todoroki isn't looking down on him

And it's so many of these heated battles that forces their relationship to go into a stalemate

Sometimes, it almost seems like they hate each other, but it just isn't the same fire

Even outside of battle, Shinsou loves mocking Todoroki

He loves that his words can get calm and collected Todoroki heated up

And Todoroki hates it

Todoroki hates that Shinsou knows exactly what buttons to press to rile him up

He hates that he likes their mutual hate (?)

He hates that he actually appreciates the chance to get his frustration out without being judged

He hates that he likes.. Shinsou

And that's all there is to it, a rivalry between two people who couldn't be more far apart

Well, that is, until Shinsou stops his banter between battles

He just stops, there's no more hate filled talk or teasing

And Todoroki, as much as he hates it, misses Shinsou's taunts

So he does the only thing he can, he confronts Shinsou

It's a quiet day in the dorms, Shinsou is chilling in the common room, and it's way too early for anyone to be up

The sun isn't even up yet, but Shinsou is, and he likes the calm and quiet of an early morning

And then his calm is interrupted by the footsteps of a certain icyhot classmate

"Good morning, pretty boy. Why are you up so early?" Shinsou asks, a little smirk to his lips

And Todoroki revels in it

Todoroki's missed the teasing so much that Shinsou's comment barely bothers him, he's just so visibly relieved

It's a strange feeling, but Todoroki does cherish their relationship, the mutual dislike?

He wouldn't dare say he dislikes Shinsou, he likes Shinsou

He likes his courage, his quiet mannerisms that are much too like his own

And he's just so relieved that he hadn't done something to throw all that away

He'd been so scared that he'd upset Shinsou somehow, that he'd put an end to their friendly rivalry

But he hadn't

And he was so glad, he even gave a soft smile

Of course, Shinsou can't read his mind, so his relieved smile comes off as cocky and stubborn, as usual

There's something new, genuine, about Todoroki's smile, and it bothers Shinsou. Todoroki isn't as vulnerable to his words today, in fact, he almost looks happy

But the show must go on, he thinks

"Aw, did you cream your pants just talking to me? You'e awfully excited today." He sneers, but something about it just isn't as hateful as it used to be

"You wish," Todoroki says back, but even Shinsou can tell there's no real heat behind it

"I'm just happy today. Can't I have that?" Todoroki says, after a brief moment

" "Just happy", sure. Whatever you say, dollface."

There's just something about the way Shinsou says it, and it gets Todoroki's eyes to widen, his lips turning to shape a soft o

"Dollface? That's a new one," Todoroki shoots back, although he can still feel the butterflies in his chest flutter at the name

"I thought it'd get under your skin," is his response

"Oh it got under my skin alright, just not in the way you think,"

Shinsou pauses in confusion, it wasn't the response be usually got. He let his eyes wander across the other's expression, how his face was flushed red and how his lips were curved so perfectly, like an imitation of his own smirk-

"Oh"

Shinsou felt the heat rushing into his cheeks, and he scrambled desperately to collect himself

"I was just thinking, we should get to know each other more. Outside of training, I mean."

And god does the little smile Todoroki shoots his way make him melt

There's something about the offer that's so sincere, so out of character for the both of them, he just can't help but like where it's going

"And how do you plan on doing that?"

"Describe yourself in three words."

Shinsou has no problem with these icebreaker games, and it was a perfectly normal thing for Todoroki to say. It would help to get them familiar with each other, but the way Todoroki was looking at him made the crude reply slip out of him

"Hot, sexy, big dick" he laughs at himself, it's narcissism at it's finest.

Shinsou worries he's scared Todoroki off as he sees the content expression melt off the other's face, turning into surprise

But then Todoroki chuckles, and all is well again

"Don't flatter yourself,"

"I don't know, 7 inches IS pretty big." He sees Todoroki's lips twitch upwards again, and he takes it as a cue to go on

"I doubt you have 7 inches," Todoroki scoffs

"You can't say that if you haven't measured it yourself," Shinsou drawls, cherishing the light blush that colors Todoroki's face

"Try me."

Shinsou stands at the comment, giving a light tug on Todoroki's shirt collar as he sweeps by him

"My room, in 10." He says, even as he fights off the blush he knows he has plastered all over him.

"I'll be there." Todoroki says, and he even has the audacity to throw his own smirk right back at him

Shinsou turns to leave, and oh god he really has fallen for the pretty boy

I thought of a new ship today so have some shinroki things:

that thing where they both stare at people with flat expressions

both of them looking intimidating af but are actually socially awkward wallflowers

sharing small secret smiles with each other when no one else is looking

holding hands under the table at lunch and playing with each other’s fingers

that thing where they take a nap together on the common room couch together in a tangled mess

Shouto giving Shinsou a head massage while having a conversation with classmates and Shinsou falling asleep

the rest of the class always trying to guess if they’re dating or just friends and coming up with horribly elaborate schemes to find out the truth (mostly led by Mina and Denki but the rest of the class gets dragged into it too)

them being an unstoppable force when paired together during training 

the few and precious moments where they’re both so lost in each other that they forget the rest of the world exists

Shinsou trying to help Shouto with his horrible sense of fashion 

a quick kiss for good luck before they head out on patrols or to a fight

Shinsou turning into a blushing, nervous wreck when meeting Shouto’s mom and siblings

‘Hey, nice one baby bro he’s cute!’ ‘Natsuo please-’ ‘How long have you two been dating? Shouto doesn’t tell us anything!’ ‘Fuyumi not you too-’

Shouto in turn being equally a mess meeting Shinsou’s parents and stuttering over every word 

the first time either of them say ‘I love you’ it’s Shinsou while they’re walking back to the dorms from class and Shouto is so shocked he runs into a wall

the two of them basically being stoic and sleepy cats together
