I've pretty muched worked out that (since a fox is unrealistic and would be a poor choice lets be real here) if I was ever to get a dog it would be a utonagan 

They're hella expensive but everything I've read says they have wonderful temperaments, almost always incredibly friendly, meant to be "a companion dog", and are bred to look wolf-like without actually having any relation to wolves
