A soft thud coming from behind him prompted Chat Noir to jump up from his comfortable spot on the roof, one hand reaching for his baton just in case. However, it turned out not to be a cause for alarm as he quickly recognized the spotted suit.
The dark-haired heroine smiled, though her voice held undertones of concern. “Would I ever stand up my favorite cat?”
“Aww, you’re my favorite too, Bugaboo.” He watched for her reaction to the infamous nickname, but unlike shooting him an annoyed look like every previous time, she smiled again.
“So what do you have planned, chaton?” She scanned her surroundings, eyeing him as if he were an akuma victim she was making a deal with.
“Well, you told me during our last attack that you’ve been really busy, and you seemed stressed, so here we are at Chat Noir’s exclusive de-stressing service.”
He reached for her hand, gingerly, as if he believed she’d recoil from his touch, but she just let him take it and lead her to wherever he wanted her to be. After all, partners were supposed to trust each other, right? And there could be no doubt about it, she’d trust him with her life, time and time again.
He motioned for her to lie down on the checked picnic mat he’d laid out for them, and he followed suit. Ladybug crossed her arms behind her head, glancing up at the beautiful night sky for the first time in weeks and letting out an unintentional sigh.
“Wow. I haven’t seen a view like this in ages,” she mumbled. “It’s breathtaking.”
“It is, isn’t it?” Chat replied, gazing at the stars as well. “And do you want to hear a secret?”
She hummed in affirmation, though they both knew it was a rhetorical question. He reached for her hand once more, blindly feeling around for it until he could slip his fingers between hers.
“Whenever I miss you, I just look out at the stars, and then I feel less lonely.”
I’m like, really busy nowadays, so all my Ladynoir content will most likely be a short drabble like this. I spent 15 minutes on this one, also not a lot, but I will probably edit and/or add on to it sometime in the future. I hope you enjoyed reading it!
