as a m/m shipper i always hate the “c get in the way of a/b” shit. in my mind, my ship is the one true pairing anyway, so i genuinely do not gaf about whoever else is around them. if another character’s presence feels threatening to your ship, maybe you’re not actually that invested in it. sorry for the rants i just sometimes can’t stand my own shipdom 🥲 (not everyone is like this, obviously, but yeah… ).

Alright, I'm sorry, but I don't get why Drarry shippers are freaking out about JKR's Draco post.

Draco/Astoria has been canon since DH. It's not like the Harmony fiasco where she blindsided people. I am glad that Astoria is a likable character, because if Draco doesn't end up with Harry in JKR's universe, I still want him to be happy. And it seems like he is.

Drarry is not canon, okay? And I don't see why it has to be; you can still enjoy the fuck out of your favorite fanfics without it being canon, because the author is not god. When it comes to fanfics and fandom, you have the power to make of it what you will, to like and imagine what you want, to take the given story beyond what's on the page.

I find it very weird that Drarry shippers expect and need validation from JKR, when they're already writing and reading stuff that goes beyond what she's done. She has no power to control what you do with what she's given you; take the gift and do what you like. Let's all be mature adults and continue doing what we do.
