The hero and villain stare at each other, wide eyed and slack jawed. Or, rather, they stare at themselves from behind their enemy’s eyes. “Oh god,” says the hero. “Oh god, no one is going to believe this. No one is going to believe us and our own allies are going to kill us!”Even in the hero’s body, the villain’s scheming face is wholly their own. “Then we fake it. I’m you, and you’re me, and we’re both good enough at pretending to survive long enough to fix this. Understood?”
