Taichi knows that something is wrong with his best friend, he has been acting strangely for weeks. Now it's one of those moments again. Training is over and, uncharacteristically, Shirabu has not yet returned to his room to study for the next exam. No, he's standing at the edge of the court, water bottle still in hand, staring at Semi and Goshiki. Weeks ago, Goshiki had given up asking Shirabu for extra training; the latter had repeatedly turned him down and had approached Semi instead. Since then, the two had been training together more often and since then - Taichi paused in his deliberations and turned his gaze back to his best friend. He was still looking at the pitch as if spellbound and had his hands clenched. Was he…jealous? A grin appeared on Taichi's lips. Now he just had to find out which of the two Shirabu was jealous of.

After the third years graduate, Goshiki doesn’t know where to look for approval anymore. That is until one day, Shirabu, bitter, cold-hearted Shirabu, gives him a small “nice kill” at practice, and Goshiki feels it again. He feels that need to be told that he’s doing a good job. Everytime Shirabu compliments him now, his chest tightens with pride. It’s like a drug that he can’t leave behind, he needs Shirabu to be proud of him, to be proud and excited to set to him.
