The shirt that launched a shirtstorm

In 2014 I made a shirt for my husband’s best friend, Dr Matt Taylor, as a birthday gift – then he wore it on TV. He is part of the European Space Agency team that landed the Philae probe on a Comet (the Rosetta Landing) and the shirt caused something of a media storm!

Apart from a certain amount of hate mail (some people really don’t appreciate pin-up art) that both Matt and I received – there was huge support for us too. In a matter of days I had orders for 300 shirts.

A business was born

There’s a limit to what one woman with a sewing machine can do in her spare time – so I took a leap of faith and with lots of support from my husband, Matt and my friends, I quit my day job and became a professional seamstress.

Why should you invest?

I have some amazing customers, including celebrities, and I want to be able to offer so much more than I currently do.

I want to be able to make people feel awesome with super interesting and head-turning clothing. People who have bought Elly PriZeMaN clothing tell me they are proud to wear it so I know it already has impact – I just want to make that even bigger and better!

I have done a lot more market research on prices and how other companies create clothing lines so I now know HOW to move it forward I just need investment to make that happen.

If any of you remember #shirtstorm when an accomplished scientist who landed a probe on a moving comet achieving probably what will be the greatest accomplishment in his life, was reduced to tears by sjws and had his accomplishments reduced to nothing but the “offensiveness” of a somewhat tacky shirt he was wearing during an interview. This is a response to that.

I started off as a girl with a hobby as I wanted to start making my own clothing. My style is quite unique and I struggled to find clothes to fit me and that I liked 100%. I taught myself to sew and soon started making clothes for my friends as well. Things took a turning point in my life when one of my closest friends wore a birthday gift I had made him on a very important day in his career which caused what is referred to as #shirtstorm
