What the average American thinks MLK said is drastically different, lesser than, and safer than what he actually said. He was a Democratic Socialist, unabashed.
He died while organizing a union strike. He hated American imperialism and our habit of installing fascism in every non-white country we could swing. He knew that the U.S. was "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world."
"We must also realize that the problems of racial injustice and economic injustice cannot be solved without a radical redistribution of political and economic power."
