soooo brad & janet career ideas (i know, So Interesting /s)

with janet, my two choices for her are dental assistant or flight attendant. been leaning more towards flight attendant bc (based on my admittedly limited knowledge on the subject) their work schedules don't follow the typical 9-to-5—meaning she's probably away from home a lot of the time (and whenever she is home, she's probably tired), and since janet is both dorian's main confidante and his best friend, her being not being there to talk to is leading to him retreating further into himself, which contributes quite a bit to dorian's worsening emotional state even before the plot actually kicks off.

(and also bc i think janet would really rock a flight attendant uniform lmao)

brad, however, i'm not sure abt. my original idea for him, when i first started coming up with this au, was real estate agent, but that doesn't really fit with my current idea of him anymore. maybe he's in a creative field? bc i've been thinking that 198X!brad is an artist of some sort

brad & janet's current relationship status in the au: they're still together, and i wanna say they're in a semi-open relationship? like they do sleep with other ppl from time to time but the primary relationship is still Them And Only Them and they don't really have any intent to change that. definitely not married, though; at first it was bc the topic of marriage was linked too much with The Incident™ (which i imagine neither of them wanted to discuss with each other, brad especially), but then they realized that they didn't Have to get married for their relationship to be legitimate. it's just what works best for them.
