I went on a bit of a scavenger hunt around the city today. In 1922, the Star-Gazette published a series of photos and brief captions entitled “Interesting Historical Points Around City Told in Pictures.” I went to six of the sites featured and took pictures of how they look today. The above photos are of the Shohola Monument in Woodlawn National Cemetery from the February 27, 1922 Star-Gazette and from 10:06 this morning. Eventually, all the old and new photos will end up as a post on our museum’s history blog.
