a few images from my second shoot
SHOOT 3 - 24.11.17
On this shoot I was quite bored of shooting the street so many times; so I decided to try something different with a crane I had noticed from my window after shooting out from it for so long.
One day I thought I was going mad, I was sure it had moved. And sure enough it moved again, throughout all hours of the day - yet I had never realized it before. So I pointed my camera and began another lengthy shoot.
Here I caught some interesting long exposure images of the street’s night life from the day before. The following morning I turned my attention to shooting the
- cranes movements
- the beautiful light cast in the sunrise and the rest of the day until sundown (shoot 4)
- colour of the sky
- birds or airplanes passing through my frame
I have included these images in my edit because of the way the shadows move across the houses in my street images, whereas the night time images of the street I have decided to include the particularly interesting light that was created or captured during the long exposure. I also included one image of the street view (6139) which was blurry - which I thought was quite an interesting image. I also included the images of the crane which had interesting colour - like the gradient of blue to pinks in images 6211 - 6219. I also included the really orange images in my edit because the colour is bright and bold, which I know will contrast nicely against my other images of the crane, like blue or the more lavender shots.
WEEK 3
WHITE PAPER - SHOOT 2
Image 1 - First shots of paper with the flash light coming through the back. Wanted it to be darker around the outer area of the subject
Image 2 & 3 - Still using the flash light and sync, outer area obviously darker and middle rather bright, liked the effect but still not happy
Image 4 - I thought that I would ditch the flash and just use the model light and turn to long exposure. With this technique the white light of the flash became an orange flame through the gaps of the paper. The result was rather interesting.
Image 5 - Tutor suggested a mix of lighting types and added a phone torch light to the back where the studio light was on with the model light. This resulted in a mix of the orange/red colour from the model light along with the white from the phone torch light.
Image 6 - I returned back to one light and was just playing around with floating another piece of paper around the edge of the paper. I tried various spots and movement but this one particularly caught my interest as it looked like smoke coming out of the “fiery” gap.
