So here is something I have never understood: why are people so oppressive about their beliefs/ideology? Here in America, the first paragraph of our own amendment states that everyone has a free exercise of religion, meaning that anyone is allowed to believe anything deity or theology they wish, but yet people say that we need to be a “Christian Nation”. Frankly, I find this to be hypocritical in every sense possible. Reasons being; 1.) One of the main reasons America even became in existence was because they felt that they should have self-governing over what to believe., 2.) Some people even believe that someone who isn’t affiliated with a God (such as myself, should go to hell) well, that being said people contradict themselves with scriptures in the bible such as Ephesians 4:32 and Luke 6:31 which state (in brief)“Treat others as you would yourself or ‘the heavenly father’” even passages such as Romans 12:10, which say “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor”. In other words, if I can respect your opinion, without getting upset, then so should you, whether you and or I like it or not. Also stating that everyone has individual expression over what freedom of religion they so desire to follow., 3.) Think about it this way, religion is an opinion of life and death, whether you believe in a God or not. Your view, from YOUR perspective, could be that their is a creator of the universe and is all knowing and powerful, and he knows when our judgements to be alive and when we die are to be. That’s your opinion of life and death, not mine. I believe that’s the one true concept people don’t seem to understand is that it’s an opinionated matter of what happens and how are life is to be lived. So why a Christian Nation? Why not just the way we are now? Like they say, just because someone goes to church doesn’t always make them a 'good person’ or 'have morals’. I could go on and on about this subject, but for now, I shall leave this where I believe it should end for now.
