Taking joy from the little things, when possible. Nik Kershaw on Publix Radio. Surprise: it’s the slower original, not the glossier Pretty in Pink version.

gahhhh, Crowded House too!
(I have tix for the first night of the US tour in Aug.)
I'm not an MLB person but there's nothing on TV but the baseballs. P sure I just heard Zep on an ad outro? Something from _Houses of the Holy_?
Just heard “Break My Stride” on a commercial. (Missed the product; something about sitting in traffic?). THAT is the sort of thing I approve of. You get yours, Matthew Wilder.
"Genius of Love" in a Sonic ad. Won't be long before we hear "This is not my beautiful house..."
V/O: NOT YET! Century 21 is standing by to help.
checkerboard vans and Men At Work’s “Overkill” and I _almost_ made a “can I just live in this Rack Room Shoes?” joke and then Vertical Horizon came on. Literally the first time I’ve heard this song since it was in the charts... and mere days after reminiscing about it. I’m bracing for Jewel.
UPDATE: nope, late-model Madonna
the hedonic value of plunking $10 down on a $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot, for many people who are reasonably well-off and, you know, Money Stuff readers, is far greater than $10, and you should do it when the chance arises. (E.g., yesterday.) This is neither investing nor hedonic advice, but live a little! Ten bucks won’t even get you into a movie, and isn’t this more fun to think about?

You could mash all 5 of my tickets together and still only hit 1 number. It was authentically fun, though, to stand in line and joke with Gate regulars (a diverse crowd of construction worker dudes and lobbyist jerks-in-suits and a woman who looked e x a c t l y like Ellen Pao) for 8 or 10 minutes, though.(Also the Sundays’ “Here’s Where the Story Ends” came on the muzak.)
love my way
