A mischievious grin spread across her lips as she made her way down the steps to the pirate, somewhat delighted that Isabela had come by since she had been inside writing letters all day and she was very close to dying because of how dreadfully boring her day had been so far.

Sometimes, Fenris has… flashes of things that are not quite memories. They are feelings, recollections, distant evocations of times long past. He remembers, sometimes, broad-leafed trees bordering a yard and a tumbledown shack, and the fresh scent of sap when grasping, childhood hands might break branches or thin trunks whilst climbing through those airy thickets. He recalls the sound of a voice, mature and world-weary but full of warmth – just for him, always just for him – and the heavy plip of rain on green leaves when summer storms would break over those tropical lands.

It is freedom, that scent. Freedom and nostalgia and home.
